Instructions To Authors

 

  1. Scope of the Journal
  2. Contributions must be on original research or review in all aspects of medical laboratory science (Clinical Chemistry Haematology, Microbiology, Parasitology etc).

  3. Manuscripts
  4. Manuscripts, in English, must be typed double spaced on A4 paper (210 x 297) on one side of the paper only with ample margins for use by reviewers. Scientific names must be italicized and authority given at first mention. Use MS Word and 12-point Times New Romans font. Format with ragged margins (Left align).

  5. Format of the Manuscript
  6. Manuscript should conform to the following format: Title page - giving title of paper (in capital letters), initial(s) and surname(s), affiliation(s) and full address(es) of author(s), the corresponding author; keywords not more than 6 for indexing and information retrieval, Abstract not exceeding 250 words summarizing the background, objectives, methodology, findings and conclusions of the paper. Introduction, materials and methods (Methodology); Results; Discussions; Acknowledgements; References; Tables and Illustrations; Weights and Measures should be stated in International system (SI) of units.

  7. References
  8.   9. Tables and Figures
  10. Tables, Figures and Plates etc should be numbered serially in Arabic Numerals, each on a separate page. Titles and footnotes should be in small letters. In tables, horizontal lines should be kept to a minimum and vertical lines should be avoided. A short descriptive title should be provided at the top of each table and below each figure and plate. Photographs or their legends must include an indication of magnification. All tables, figures and plates should be fixed within the text following the sequence in which they are referred to.

  11. Submission
  12. Submit manuscript by e-mail as an attachment to editor@thebiomedicaldiagnostics.org. Include a covering letter indicating that all the authors have seen and have approved the final form of the manuscript. Each manuscript must be submitted with a processing fee of N30, 000 (Thirty Thousand Naira Only). Authors may pay the charges through Biomedical Diagnostics, Acct. No. 1021735627 in United Bank for Africa Plc (UBA). Articles accepted for publication will attract a page charge of fifty thousand naira (N50, 000.00) only for a maximum of twenty (20) pages typed double spaced on A4 paper. Each additional page outside this will attract additional charge of two thousand naira (N2000.00) only.

  13. Assessment
  14. All papers will be assessed by at least two referees.

  15. Proofs
  16. Corresponding author(s) will receive page proofs (including figures) for correction of articles that have been accepted for publication. Corrected proofs must be returned immediately.
